Charles Woodson open to playing for Raiders past '14

Before Charles Woodsonre-signed with the Oakland Raiders in March, the 37-year-old safety acknowledged that he seriously considered retirement.

Now energized by the team's offseason additions, Woodson is open to playing beyond the 2014 season.

"Going off of how I feel health-wise, I'm not looking at this being the last year," Woodson said Monday, via CSN Bay Area. "I'm going to enjoy every moment of this experience because you never know how it's going to turn out.

"You look at what they've done here and you see the draft they've had -- we're going to be a good team. If that means playing this year and beyond, I'll be open to it."

Woodson had an impressive bounce-back season in Oakland last year, playing 1,098 of the team's 1,105 defensive snaps in his first 16-game campaign since the 2010 season with the Packers.

Turning 38 in early October, Woodson is emblematic of a Raiders squad predicting anunlikely renascence while racing against Father Time.
