He made good on his word Friday night, selecting Mizzou defensive end Kony Ealy with the No. 60 overall pick.

Viewed as a first-round talent, Ealy's stock slipped ostensibly due to character concerns.

One scout told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that Ealy is a "classic con man" who will be a "big pain in the (expletive)." On the positive side, he's a big, athletic, ascending pass rusher who racked up 14.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks last season.

Now that the Panthers have passed on a left tackle in the first two rounds, Byron Bell will have to transfer to Cam Newton's blind side. If they draft a tackle in the next couple of rounds, he will likely be ticketed for the right side.
