Jacobs has yet to play a game for the San Francisco 49ers this season after suffering a knee injury during the preseason. The running back didn't sound thrilled about that reality as he discussed the 49ers' Sunday matchup against the New York Giants, the team with which he won two Super Bowl championships.
"It would be different if things were different, put it that way," Jacobs said, via USA Today. "I don't have any thoughts on it."
Since this is Brandon Jacobs we're talking about, he actually had plenty of thoughts on it. Jacobs said his knee is feeling "phenomenal," and he could've played two weeks ago if the 49ers would've let him. He was asked if he's become frustrated by not playing.

"Oh, very," he said. "Because I don't know anything. I don't know what's what. But I'm hanging in there, I'm working every day, doing what I have to do. Let's say I'm just working and doing what I have to do, and that's that.
"I've learned over the years when you open your mouth and say certain things, it hurts you, so I'm just going to shut up and keep working."
