Bills' Mike Williams says he's healthy, back to old self

Mike Williams doesn't have a guaranteed roster spot as he begins his first training camp with the Buffalo Bills. The summer will be a test for the veteran wide receiver, who enters competition with the benefit of good health.

Williams made it through Saturday's conditioning exercises without incident and says he's fully recovered from the torn hamstring that ended his 2013 season and kept him out of offseason training activities after his trade from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"I'm fully ready to go," Williams said, according to The Buffalo News. "I trained this whole offseason. There was really no offseason for me. I kinda had to get my leg better. I had to get back to feeling like Mike again, like my mom always tells me. Today running that conditioning test made me feel like I was Mike again."

"At the start of camp, just did the conditioning test and I feel real good," he added. "I feel great. I feel I got an A-plus, if there was a grade for it. I feel I'm ready to go."

Williams is 27 and just two years removed from a season in Tampa Bay in which he finished with nearly 1,000 receiving yards and nine touchdowns. Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods will lock down starting jobs in Orchard Park, but Williams should earn a defined role if he stays healthy and motivated.

So far, so good.
