Baseball shifts Chargers-Raiders game to Sunday night

A clash of tenants at O.co Coliseum has set the stage for an unusual Sunday night in the NFL.

The Oakland Athletics are scheduled to host a playoff game at 9:07 p.m. ET on Saturday night, less than 20 hours before the Oakland Raiders had been scheduled to host the San Diego Chargers in the same multi-purpose facility.

To provide stadium employees the proper time necessary for the conversion from a baseball configuration to football, the Raiders announced Monday that the NFL game has been moved from 4:25 p.m. to 11:35 p.m. ET on Sunday. The game will be broadcast on NFL Network as well as an over-the-air station locally, if sold out per the league's blackout rules.

The proper "Sunday Night Football" matchup between the Houston Texans and San Francisco 49ers remains an 8:30 p.m. ET start on NBC. After Al and Cris sign off, switch over to NFL Network for more football.

This is not a bad thing, especially for you pigskin-loving insomniacs along the Eastern seaboard.
