Atlanta Falcons sign Matt Bryant to contract extension

The Atlanta Falconsannounced on Wednesday that they have signed kicker Matt Bryant to a contract extension. Terms of the deal were not disclosed in the release.

Bryant has been one of the NFL's most consistent kickers since joining Atlanta as a free agent in 2009, converting 88.6 percent of his field goal attempts. The veteran kicker has scored 666 points with the Falcons -- second in franchise history behind Morten Andersen.

The 39-year-old enjoyed a strong 2014 campaign, converting 29 of 32 field goal attempts while leading the NFL in kicks made beyond 50 yards. He also earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for November.
