Anthony Spencer has signed his franchise-tag tender of $8.8 million, according to the Dallas Cowboys' official blog.

The team later confirmed the signing Monday.

The linebacker missed Dallas' first day of voluntary offseason conditioning workouts last week, according to ESPNDallas.com.

The five-year veteran started 15 games for the Cowboys last season where he recorded 66 tackles and six sacks for the Cowboys.

Spencer has collected 266 tackles and 21.5 sacks and one interception during his career with Dallas.

Spencer was selected in the first round as the 26th overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft.
