Indianapolis Colts rookie quarterback Andrew Luck knows all of the 2012 season will be a learning experience. The same goes for 2013, and beyond. It's a process for young quarterbacks. That doesn't mean he doesn't expect a significant improvement from Week 1 to Week 2.

"Yeah, I think, I feel much more competent," Luck told USA Today on Thursday. "I'm a big believer in competence over confidence. I feel like, 'Okay, I've been through a game and understand the situations better, I understand how the speed is.' So understanding that, I guess, gives me more competence."
Luck threw for 309 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions the Week 1 41-21 loss to the Chicago Bears in his first career game. He completed just 51.1 percent of his passes and held a 52.9 quarterback rating.
Luck worked well with Reggie Wayne and put together a strong two-minute drive before halftime. But he struggled, somewhat, pushing the ball downfield.
"What I'm realizing is you have to be consistent in this league to get wins -- consistently take care of the ball, consistently make the right throws," Luck said. "If you're inconsistent, if you slip up one time, I got away with it in college, but in this league, you'll pay.
"So, I have come to that realization."
Life should be easier against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. Plus, the home field advantage of playing at Lucas Oil Stadium. There should be some improvement.
Now, if Luck could get a little more help from that offensive line ...
