How Pats fans are dealing with Gronk surgery news

Rob Gronkowski could miss the rest of the season after Rap Sheet reported Thursday that the All-Pro tight end will undergo his third back surgery.

Gronk's loss significantly dents New England's Super Bowl chances, and one can only imagine the panic currently washing over Patriot Nation. Actually, let's go ahead and dip into a popular Patriots subreddit to gauge how folks are coping.

These are all real comments from real Patriots fans.

THE SKY IS FALLING

I want to die.

BLAME EA SPORTS

F------ MADDEN CURSE

MASSIVE A.J. DERBY REGRET

Every time I hear AJ Derby's name called in a Denver game, I shake my head. He was doing pretty damn well for us in the preseason. Could have used him now.

SEE YA, GRONK

HOT TAKE: I wouldn't be opposed to the Pats trading him next season or making him take less money if he wants to re-sign. I love the f--- out of Gronk but at this point he is just way too injury prone. We can keep Martellus for less money. People will be beside themselves reading this comment but this dude is just so injury prone. Again I'd love him on the Pats for life but hopefully he won't require too much money. If he does...idk

HOPE IS A GOOD THING

This f----- sucks ass. BUT, at least we know he will be out for significant time so we can game plan without him in mind at all. Makes things easier in that respect. This also opens up more time for Malcolm Mitchell who has been looking great lately. Heads up, PATS NATION!!

THIS IS A NICE, MEASURED TAKE

Christ this f----- (stinks), but it's part of the reason we were able to grab this guy in the second round and he didn't go top 5. He had an injury history and it's held true. You hope it's a minor surgery and he can remain healthy from here on out but no surgery is ever minor and at this point you start to wonder when these injuries will catch up with him.

ALSO PRETTY MEASURED

It's important to remember that Bennett has been fighting that ankle injury all year, and knowing Lewis' vulnerability to injury, we could be on thin ice pretty quickly.

NOT AS MEASURED

We're still winning the super bowl, we got Bennett, Lewis, Hogan, Mitchell, Blount, Edelman ... AND TOM F----- BRADY. if you think we can't win the super bowl you're a p----.

FUNNY

At least Jeff Fisher can start planning for Aaron Hernandez to play this weekend with Woodhead....

REAL

WHAT THE F--- IM PANICKING

(reply)* I'm not. Nothing really matters. We're all going to die. We watch the sport of football to distract ourselves from our inevitable death. This means nothing to me. *
(reply)* Nothing like the realization of our inevitable death and eternal nothingness to put gronks injury into perspective. I feel much better now thanks*
