A.P. to seafood: I wish I knew how to quit you

Adrian Peterson's unrequited love of shellfish is a Shakespearean tragedy.

The Saints running back loves seafood, but his body is not on the same page. Five years ago with the Vikings, a bowl of gumbo caused Peterson's face to itch and his throat to close, a undoubtedly terrifying experience that led to the diagnosis of a shellfish allergy.

But like a vampire finding his footing, Peterson had developed a taste. He couldn't stop now. Another allergic reaction, this time caused by shrimp, led to an upset stomach that threatened his availability for a game against the Saints in 2015. He played and rushed for 95 yards.

Now All Day finds himself in New Orleans, a place with some of the most delicious seafood in America. And he continues to thumb his nose at throat closures, sampling the city's fine sea-based cuisine with an EpiPen on his person just in case. Charbroiled oysters are his go-to dish right now.

Peterson admits he overindulged upon his arrival in NOLA, a story many a NFL player have told through the years.

"I was trying to stay away because when I first got here they [tested] my body fat and it was like 7 or 8 [percent]," he said. "And two weeks later I did it, and it was like approaching 9 or 10 [percent]. I was like, I wanted to make sure I stopped eating so good, but it's so delicious."

Stay away, Eddie. Stay far away.
