The NFL confirmed Friday that it had fined Cutler $10,000 for taunting Minnesota Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson by flipping the ball at him. Cutler appeared to think Jefferson hit him with a late or unnecessary hit.
Cutler wasn't the only big-name player fined this week. We told you about Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall earlier in the week, but Houston Texans defensive tackle J.J. Watt's name came up as a small surprise.
The league fined Watt $15,750 for striking Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford in the head/neck area. That penalty took place late in the fourth quarter and would have set up Detroit in field-goal position, at the 30-yard-line, to win the game. It's not a stretch to say that missed call could have cost the Lions a win.

» Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall was fined $35,750 for two penalties against the Dallas Cowboys. Hall drew a $20,000 fine for a horse-collar tackle and a $15,750 fine for a late hit. Meanwhile, Cowboys cornerback Mike Jenkins was fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness after he elbowed Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon after a touchdown.
» Four Oakland Raiders players and one Cincinnati Bengals player were fined for their skirmish in the Bengals' 34-10 win.
» In his first NFL game, Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Donald Stephenson drew a penalty and a $15,750 fine for unncessary roughness against the Denver Broncos.
» Texans safety Brandon Harris was fined $21,000 for unnecessary roughness after he hit a defenseless receiver on a punt return. That was Detroit Lions receiver Stephan Logan, who also drew a fine of his own, being docked $7,875 for unnecessary roughness (facemask). Suh was fined earlier in the week for kicking Texans quarterback Matt Schaub.
» Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin was fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness after a late hit in the fourth quarter against San Diego Chargers.
» New Orleans Saints defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley was fined $20,000 for kicking San Francisco 49ers guard Alex Boone in the helmet, NFL.com's Albert Breer reported, citing a source briefed on the discipline.
» Green Bay Packers safety Jerron McMillian drew a $21,000 fine for unnecessary roughness after making helmet-to-helmet contact with a defenseless player, New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett.

» Besides Cutler, a slew of Bears caught the NFL's attention. Wide receiver Eric Weems was fined $7,875 for unnecessary roughness after he struck Vikings cornerback A.J. Jefferson late. Brian Urlacher and Henry Melton were fined $15,750 and $7,875, respectively, for fouls against Vikings running back Adrian Peterson. The Vikings didn't get off scot-free in the contest, however. Jared Allen was hit with a $21,000 fine for a blind-side block that ended Lance Louis' season.
» St. Louis Rams defensive end Chris Long was fined $15,750 for unnecessary roughness after a hit to the head of Arizona Cardinals quarterback Ryan Lindley.
» Carolina Panthers running back Mike Tolbert was fined $21,000 for an illegal blind-side hit on Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Casey Matthews during a kickoff return.
» Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas was docked $15,750 for unnecessary roughness after a hit to the head of Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
