Vick reportedly insisted on painkilling injections to play

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick reportedly went the extra mile to will his team back into the NFL playoff picture.

Citing a league source, ProFootballTalk.com reported Sunday that Vick insisted on taking painkilling shots for his broken ribs so he could be on the field for Philadelphia's Week 14 win over the Miami Dolphins and Sunday's blowout of the Jets.

On Sunday, Vick completed 15 of 22 passes for 274 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 32 yards and another score.

At 6-8, the Eagles can win the NFC East if they beat the Cowboys on Saturday, the Giants lose to the Jets next Sunday, the Eagles beat the Redskins, and the Giants beat the Cowboys in Week 17.
