Nine Nebraska players, plus another prospect from Nebraska-Kearney, worked out indoors on FieldTurf.
Outside linebacker Randy Gregory (6-foot-4 5/8, 238 pounds) ran the 60-yard shuttle in 11.81 seconds and did the three-cone drill in 6.79 seconds. Gregory stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine in order to concentrate on his rigorous positional workout, during which he put on a show. Gregory is very lean and has narrow shoulders. He is extremely athletic.
Running back Ameer Abdullah (5-8 3/4, 202) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.54 and 4.53 seconds. He stood on the rest of his numbers from the combine, where he was a top performer among running backs in the vertical jump, broad jump, three-cone drill, 20-yard short shuttle and 60-yard shuttle. Abdullah did a really good job in the positional drills. He was really quick and caught the ball extremely well out of the backfield.
Linebacker Trevor Roach (6-2 1/8, 237) ran the 40 in 4.78 and 4.79 seconds. He had a short shuttle time of 4.23 seconds and a three-cone time of 6.80 seconds. He had a 35 1/2-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot broad jump. He performed 25 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Roach is a priority free-agent possibility after the 2015 NFL Draft.
Nebraska-Kearney center Cole Manhart (6-4 3/8, 298) ran the 40 in 5.35 and 5.40 seconds. He performed 24 strength lifts. Manhart is a rookie free-agent possibility for a team.
