Titans' Young starts vs. Rams, who turn to rookie Null at QB

Tennessee Titans quarterback Vince Young started Sunday despite an achy right knee that had him listed as questionable for the game against the St. Louis Rams.

Young left practice early Thursday after aggravating the injury, then he watched Friday's workout.

Rams rookie quarterback Keith Null started in place of Kyle Boller, who was limited by an injured thigh. Boller was scheduled to start an hour before kickoff but was a last-minute scratch.

The Rams sat right tackle Jason Smith on Sunday for a third consecutive game with a concussion. The Titans also sat rookie tight end Jared Cook, who suffered a concussion one week ago at Indianapolis.

Justin Gage is active for the Titans for his first game since he broke several bones in his lower back Nov. 8. But rookie Kenny Britt is starting his fifth consecutive game in Gage's place.
