Titans play it safe, put Young on injury report with tight hamstring

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Titans say they have added starting quarterback Vince Young to their official injury report for Sunday's season opener, but he is still expected to play.

Height: 6-5

Weight: 233

College: Texas

Experience: 2

Coach Jeff Fisher said Young was included on the list Friday because of tightness in his hamstring, adding that the move was "just to protect us."

Reserve running back Quinton Ganther also had an issue with his hamstring during a special teams session Friday and did not finish practice.

His status for Sunday's game in Nashville against the Jacksonville Jaguars is not yet known.

Rookie defensive tackle Jason Jones, who suffered a left elbow injury Wednesday and missed Thursday's practice, returned on Friday wearing a brace to protect his arm.

Fisher said Jones would not have been allowed to practice if coaches didn't think he could do it.

Fisher said the team doesn't anticipate Jones having any problems.
