Tennessee Titans tight end Bo Scaife reported to the team's facility Monday and is expected to participate in a voluntary workout Tuesday, The Tennessean reported, citing sources familiar with the situation.
Scaife signed his $4.9 million tender offer from the Titans in March, but he had missed the offseason training program and voluntary organized team activities, choosing instead to work out with a personal trainer in Denver, according to The Tennessean. Scaife, whom the Titans tagged as their franchise player in 2009, wants a long-term deal.
Scaife is entering his sixth NFL season, all with the Titans, who drafted him in the sixth round in 2005. He had 45 catches for 440 yards and one touchdown last season.
Scaife would have been an unrestricted free agent under the old salary-cap rules. However, the uncapped 2010 season increased eligibility for unrestricted free agency from four years to six years, making Scaife a restricted free agent.
