Jaguars introduce half-season ticket packages to boost sales

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In an effort to boost ticket sales in a sluggish economy, the Jacksonville Jaguars are offering half-season packages for half price.

The Jaguars unveiled the new packages Monday, allowing fans to purchase season tickets to five of the team's 10 home games for $200.

One package includes games against Tampa Bay (preseason), Indianapolis, Arizona, St. Louis and Buffalo. The other one includes games against Miami (preseason), Washington, Tennessee, Kansas City and Houston.

The new offer comes as Jacksonville faces several television blackouts this season. Ticket sales have slumped in recent years, even prompting owner Wayne Weaver to cover up nearly 10,000 seats to lower ticket sales requirements.
