Eagles agree to terms with third-rounder Smith; eight of ten picks signed

PHILADELPHIA -- Third-round draft pick Bryan Smith signed with the Eagles on Tuesday, becoming the eighth of the team's 10 picks to agree to a contract.

Smith, a 6-foot-2, 245-pound defensive end, starred at Division I-AA McNeese State, recording 31 sacks and 187 tackles in 31 games.

Smith was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award after his junior season, when he tallied 13.5 sacks and 84 tackles.

The only two Eagles draft picks still unsigned are two second-round selections, defensive tackle Trevor Laws and wide receiver DeSean Jackson.

The Eagles open training camp when rookies and selected veterans report July 21.
