Coastal Carolina's Hamilton is a late-round possibility

Representatives from 18 NFL teams were on hand for Coastal Carolina's pro day on March 27, when nine Chanticleers prospects and four others from area small schools worked out outdoors on grass.

One player at the pro day attended the NFL Scouting Combine.

Center Chad Hamilton (6-foot-2 1/8, 297 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.93 and 5.0 seconds. He had a 30-inch vertical jump and 9-foot-4 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.63 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.58 seconds. He had 19 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Hamilton has long, 34 1/8-inch arms. Hamilton -- who could be a late-round draft choice -- is scheduled to work out for or visit with a number of teams, and has already worked out for the Houston Texans.

Offensive lineman Mo Ashley (6-4 7/8, 325) ran the 40 in 5.44 and 5.45 seconds. He had a 26 1/2-inch vertical jump and 8-foot-9 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.83 seconds and the three-cone drill in 8.13 seconds. He performed 22 strength lifts. Ashley is a free-agent pickup possibility for a team following the conclusion of the 2015 NFL Draft.
