Bills lose key defender Edwards for season due to hamstring

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills starting defensive end Dwan Edwards is done for the season after being placed on injured reserve Thursday because of a hamstring injury.

Edwards signed with the Bills this past offseason as a free agent, and he had started all 11 games. He was injured during Sunday's overtime loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Edwards is tied for fourth on the Bills with 59 tackles.

The Bills also signed tight end Mike Caussin on Thursday. He spent the first 12 weeks of the season on the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad.

Buffalo has four tight ends on its roster, but one of them, Shawn Nelson, has been sidelined since last week because of migraines.
