49ers sign CB Paymah to one-year contract

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers signed free-agent cornerback Karl Paymah to a one-year deal Wednesday.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Paymah, a third-round draft pick by the Denver Broncos in 2005, will enter his sixth NFL season after largely playing on special teams so far. He has started seven of his 72 NFL games, recording 128 tackles, three interceptions, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.

Paymah, 27, spent his first four seasons with the Broncos before signing with the Minnesota Vikings last year.
