Weekly rankings: Rivers rushes up quarterback list

Congratulations to all of you who have made it to your championship games! This is great news. So I'll skip the pleasantries and reviews of the "Homeland" and "Sons of Anarchy" finales and jump to the rankings. (Though I would like to say I'm not sure if I'm ever going back to "Homeland" because the season finale offered no cliffhangers and was a nice, tidy bow.

1. Peyton Manning
2. Philip Rivers
3. Drew Brees
4. Nick Foles
5. Cam Newton
6. Matthew Stafford
7. Jay Cutler
8. Tom Brady
9. Colin Kaepernick
10. Russell Wilson

* If you take away the snow game, the Eagles have allowed an average of 20 points to quarterbacks over the last month. Which makes Cutler an excellent play.

* If I had to make a move right now, I'd rather have Kirk Cousins over Tony Romo this week. Romo's had fewer than 295 passing yards in each of his seven career starts in Washington. He's had six touchdowns and six interceptions in the last three meetings.

Running backs

1. LeSean McCoy
2. Jamaal Charles
3. Matt Forte
4. Alfred Morris
5. Marshawn Lynch
6. DeMarco Murray
7. Eddie Lacy
8. Knowshon Moreno
9. Adrian Peterson
10. Ryan Mathews

* How can the guy who just scored 50 fantasy points not be the top running back? You have to find a way to keep him humble.

Wide receivers

1. Calvin Johnson
2. Josh Gordon
3. Alshon Jeffery
4. Brandon Marshall
5. Dez Bryant
6. A.J. Green
7. Keenan Allen
8. Demaryius Thomas
9. DeSean Jackson
10. Pierre Garcon

* If you give me long enough to talk myself into it, I can make Allen a top five guy this week against the Raiders.

Tight ends

1. Jimmy Graham
2. Vernon Davis
3. Julius Thomas
4. Jason Witten
5. Jordan Cameron
6. Dennis Pitta
7. Tony Gonzalez
8. Greg Olsen
9. Delanie Walker
10. Antonio Gates

* The Jets have been tough on fantasy tight ends in recent weeks. But I still have faith Cameron can come through in the fantasy playoffs.

1. Sebastian Janikowski
2. Robbie Gould
3. Stephen Gostkowski
4. Phil Dawson
5. Matt Prater
6. Steven Hauschka
7. Mason Crosby
8. Nick Novak
9. Adam Vinatieri
10. Graham Gano

* Gould is going to have a monster game this week.

1. Seattle Seahawks
2. St. Louis Rams
3. San Francisco 49ers
4. Kansas City Chiefs
5. Cincinnati Bengals
6. Detroit Lions
7. New England Patriots
8. Denver Broncos
9. Carolina Panthers
10. Arizona Cardinals

* Really excited about any defense going up against the Giants, though I fear this is the week Eli Manning makes it happen.
