10. Tajh Boyd, Clemson

The key stats: 21 of 28, 288 yards, 5 touchdowns, 0 interceptions in win vs. The Citadel.

The buzz: Boyd starred in his final home game; he played into the third quarter before taking a seat during the rout. All five TD passes came in the first half, including three in the second quarter.

9. Connor Halliday, Washington State

The key stats: 39 of 62, 488 yards, 4 touchdowns, 0 interceptions in win vs. Utah.

The buzz: Halliday threw a TD pass in each quarter as the Cougars clinched bowl eligibility. It was the first time this season that Halliday didn't throw a pick and just the second time in the past 21 games. It's the fourth time this season he has thrown at least four TD passes.

8. David Fales, San Jose State

The key stats: 42 of 556, 440 yards, 5 touchdowns, 1 interception in loss vs. Navy.

The buzz: Fales threw two TD passe in the fourth quarter, including one on the final play of the game; he then completed a two-point conversion pass to send the game into overtime. He threw a TD pass in OT but tossed his only pick in the third overtime.

7. Shane Carden, East Carolina

The key stats: 23 of 30, 255 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions; 2 rushing touchdowns in win vs. NC State.

The buzz: Carden threw at least three TD passes for the fifth consecutive game, and it was his third game this season with at least two rushing touchdowns. He accounted for three first-half TDs and helped the Pirates to a 35-7 halftime lead.

6. Kevin Hogan, Stanford

The key stats: 17 of 26, 329 yards, 5 touchdowns, 0 interceptions in win vs. California.

The buzz: The yardage total was a career high for Hogan, a sophomore; it also was the first time in his career he threw more than three TD passes. Four of his scoring passes went to WR Ty Montgomery, and two covered at least 50 yards.

5. Clint Chelf, Oklahoma State

The key stats: 19 of 25, 370 yards, 3 touchdowns, 0 interceptions; 1 rushing TD; 48 receiving yards in win vs. Baylor

The buzz: Chelf, a senior, accounted for 438 yards of total offense as the Cowboys blasted Baylor and moved into position to earn the Big 12's automatic BCS bid. He threw TD passes in each of the final three quarters, and his rushing TD came late in the second period and gave Oklahoma State a 35-3 halftime lead. Chelf set a career high in passing yards. It was just the second 300-yard game of his career; the other came against Baylor last season.

4. Marquise Williams, North Carolina

The key stats: 20 of 27, 409 yards, 5 touchdowns, 0 interceptions, 60 rushing yards in win vs. Old Dominion.

The buzz: Williams threw two TD passes in the first quarter, then three more in the second as UNC built a 49-13 halftime lead en route to scoring a school-record 80 points. Three of the scoring passes covered at least 43 yards.

3. Keenan Reynolds, Navy

The key stats: 36 rushes for 240 yards, 7 rushing touchdowns, 1 TD pass in win vs. San Jose State.

The buzz: Reynolds set an FBS record for rushing TDs in a game by a quarterback; his final one was the game-winner in the third overtime

2. Derek Carr, Fresno State

The key stats: 27 of 37, 527 yards, 7 touchdowns, 0 interceptions; 26 rushing yards in win vs. New Mexico.

The buzz: It was Carr's sixth 400-yard game of the season of the season. He threw three TD passes in the first half, which ended with Fresno State leading 35-0; his other TD passes came in the third quarter. The seven TD passes are tied for the most in a game this season.

1. Brett Smith, Wyoming

The key stats: 29 of 48, 498 yards, 7 touchdowns, 0 interceptions; 142 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown in win vs. Hawaii.

The buzz: Smith had 640 yards of total offense, the most in the nation this season. He had two TD passes of more than 70 yards and also a 47-yarder. His seven TD passes are tied for the most in a game this season.
