Woody Johnson won't deny Darrelle Revis rumors

Jets general manager John Idzik was introduced to the New York media Thursday, and proved to be the anti-Rex Ryan. Idzik said very little and offered no specifics on the Jets' roster or his future.

Dysfunction in the Big Apple

Darrelle Revis' situation with the Jets shows what happens when an owner dictates football decisions, Gregg Rosenthal writes. **More ...**

So we'll leave it to Jets owner Woody Johnson to give us the best update of the day. Johnson was asked if the team is interested in trading cornerback Darrelle Revis, as multiple reports have indicated.

"I don't know where that came from," Johnson said.

It's notable Johnson wouldn't deny that there is interest. Other than that, Johnson deferred to Idzik.

"I think it's way premature to say anything specific," Idzik said. "I think it would be presumptuous to say anything on that."

That generally was the response when Idzik was asked about Revis, Mark Sanchez or any other roster-related questions. Idzik was complimentary of Ryan and said he looked forward to working together. "We over me" was a phrase that was used.

Asked if Rex had a year to prove himself under Idzik, the new boss said, "I don't look at it like that."

Ryan was on hand as well. "This man's goals are the exact same as my goals... and Mr. Johnson's," Ryan said, via the New York Daily News.

Johnson, meanwhile, said Ryan's future would be decided jointly by the owner and Idzik. Ryan reportedly doesn't want to trade Revis.

Ryan knows he has an uphill battle to win with this roster. Getting rid of the team's best player won't help him one bit.
