Vikings LB Henderson held out of practice with sore knee

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Minnesota Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson missed practice Thursday and will have an X-ray on his sore knee to make sure he doesn't have a serious injury.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said Henderson woke up in the morning with swelling, and the team believed it would be "wise to hold him back." Henderson participated in practice Wednesday without problems, and the Vikings weren't sure how he got hurt.

Frazier said he won't be concerned if Henderson can practice Friday.

In his place, younger brother Erin Henderson and recently acquired Xavier Adibi took turns Thursday at middle linebacker. Kenny Onatolu also saw time at weakside linebacker, where Erin Henderson has been playing.
