Veteran TE Fine among seven players cut by Bills

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- The Buffalo Bills released tight end Derek Fine and six other players Tuesday.

Fine, a fourth-round draft pick in 2008, had 19 receptions in two seasons with the Bills. He went on season-ending injured reserve last November because of a knee injury after being limited to just eight games.

Wide receiver Justin Jenkins, defensive back John Wendling, linebacker Ashlee Palmer, defensive ends Jermaine McGhee and Marcus Smith, and center Marvin Phillip also were waived. Jenkins, Wendling and Palmer all played on special teams this past season.

The Bills also hired Stan Kwan as their assistant special teams coach. He will enter his 20th NFL season and help special teams coach Bruce DeHaven.
