Nineteen NFL teams were on hand for Utah State's pro day on Thursday.
The workout was described as exceptionally well-organized, and 13 players worked out -- 11 from Utah State and two from Weber State. The workout was held indoors on field turf. None of the players that worked out had been invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, but at least one of the players has a chance to be picked late in the draft, and a few others will likely be priority free agents this year.
Utah State free safety Brian Suite (6-foot-2 5/8, 203 pounds) recorded 40-yard dash times of 4.47 and 4.55 seconds. Suite had a 37 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-foot-2 broad jump. He ran the short shuttle in 4.23 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.65 seconds. He had 14 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. Suite could potentially be picked toward the bottom of the draft and definitely will be a priority free agent if he doesn't get picked.
Joe Hill (5-10 3/8, 184), a running back from Utah State, was very impressive in the 40-yard dash, recording times of 4.28 and 4.31 seconds. The fastest 40 time at the combine this year was 4.28, by UAB wide receiver J.J. Nelson. Hill had a vertical of 34 1/2-inches and a 9-8 broad jump. He performed the short shuttle in 4.59 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.25 seconds. He had nine reps of 225 pounds on the bench press and could be a priority free agent.
Utah State linebacker Zach Vigil (6-2, 236) had a good workout and will likely be a priority free agent. He ran 4.68 and 4.67 in the 40. He recorded a 32-inch vertical, 9-5 broad jump, 4.41 short shuttle and 7.11 three-cone drill. Vigil had 26 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
A Weber State wide receiver who has a chance to be signed as a free agent, Shaydon Kehano (5-10 3/8, 182 pounds), ran the 40 in 4.53 and 4.56 seconds. He had a 37 1/2-inch vertical and a 10-2 broad jump. He performed the short shuttle in 4.13 seconds and the three-cone drill in 6.87 seconds. He had 21 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
Utah State offensive lineman Bill Vava'u (6-3 1/4, 328 pounds) recorded a vertical of 29 inches and broad jump of 8-5. His hands measured at 10.5 inches, and his arms measured 33 5/8 inches. He performed 25 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, but pulled his left hamstring on his first run and wasn't able to work out in individual drills.
