Urban Meyer: No interest in coaching any team other than OSU

Urban Meyer says he's not going anywhere.

The Ohio State coach on Saturday morning told the Columbus Dispatch, through a spokesman, that he has no interest in any job other than coaching OSU.

"I am proud and honored to be the head football coach at The Ohio State University," Meyer stated, per the Dispatch. "I have no interest whatsoever in any other position outside of my job coaching the Buckeyes."

Meyer's statement comes on the heels of an Internet report that the Browns were preparing to offer Meyer a deal that would make him the highest-paid coach in the NFL.

Meyer is the third highest-paid coach in college football, according to USA Today, with a base salary of $5.86 million this year, and all indications are he enjoys being a college coach. As for his interest in the NFL, Meyer said in January that he wasn't interested in making a jump to the pros "right now." Based on his statement Saturday, he hasn't changed his mind.

On Saturday, his No. 6-ranked Buckeyes are rooting for some upsets as they hold out hope for a second consecutive College Football Playoff berth.
