Urban Meyer: Braxton Miller will probably start for Ohio State

Ohio State's Kenny Guiton has made quite an impression on college football observers while filling in at quarterback over the past three weeks. He's even listed as the co-starter with preseason Heisman candidate Braxton Miller on the Buckeyes' depth chart this week.

It appears he'll be stepping aside for Miller when Ohio State opens its Big Ten season against Wisconsin on Saturday, though.

Urban Meyer said Wednesday that Miller will "probably" start against the Badgers after missing all but one drive of the team's previous three games with a sprained knee. Guiton threw 12 touchdown passes in that span, including a school-record six -- all in the first half -- against Florida A&M last week.

"I think Braxton will probably start," Meyer said. "He had a good day (Wednesday) and it looks like he's pretty close to 100 percent. I just wanted to make sure running the ball he's good, too. And he was."

However, Meyer has not shut the door on playing both quarterbacks.

"We're still working through exactly how we're going to manage the game, but they both look good," he said.

Making a two-quarterback system run smoothly can be challenging. Meyer acknowledged the difficulties in deciding the right time to make a change. But if anyone knows how to make it work, it should be him.
