Titans agree with DL Jones, waive DE Fisher

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -The Tennessee Titans are a player away from wrapping up contracts with all of their 2008 draft class after agreeing on terms with second-round defensive lineman Jason Jones.

The Titans only have top pick running back Chris Johnson still unsigned before camp opens Friday.

The Titans also announced Wednesday they had waived five players, including defensive end Bryce Fisher. They picked up Fisher in a trade with Seattle last September, but he only played in nine games and had only nine tackles. They also waived linebacker Jerrell Freeman, receiver Jason Rivers, defensive tackle Eric Taylor and quarterback Paul Thompson.

Jones was the 54th pick overall, and the 6-foot-5, 273-pound defensive lineman had 14 sacks at Eastern Michigan where he started 36 of 45 games. He had 19 1/2 tackles for loss as a senior.
