Tide QB pledge David Cornwell makes court-length shot

With Alabama transitioning quarterbacks next season with three-year starter AJ McCarron moving up to the NFL, the battle to be McCarron's heir will be on in a few short weeks.

David Cornwell isn't even on campus yet, and there are more than a few backups who have as many as three years on him. But if he can throw a football like he can shoot a basketball, figure him to rise up the depth-chart ladder in short order. Cornwell, who had ACL surgery just six weeks ago, recorded himself connecting on a court-length basketball shot.

One out of two, in this context, definitely isn't bad.

Cornwell will be a freshman at UA next year. Senior-to-be Blake Sims, McCarron's primary backup this season, will be battling for the job among Alec Morris, Luke Del Rio (son of Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack), Dude Perfect 2.0 here, and others.
