TE coaches from six teams take in South Carolina's pro day

Representatives from 30 NFL teams -- including tight ends coaches from the Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers -- were present for South Carolina's pro day on March 30.

The workout was held outdoors in the Gamecocks' home stadium, Williams-Brice Stadium.

Tight end Jerell Adams -- 6-foot-5 1/4, 252 pounds -- did 18 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press, and then stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. He did a good job of catching the ball in the positional drills.

Wide receiver Pharoh Cooper -- 5-11 1/4, 208 -- ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 and 4.63 seconds. He had a 30 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-10 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.26 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.15 seconds. He performed 19 reps on the bench. Cooper catches the ball well, and is a better player on tape than he shows in pro-day workouts.

Offensive tackle Brandon Shell -- 6-5 5/8, 324 -- did the short shuttle in 4.62 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.62 seconds. He has 34 5/8-inch long arms. Shell is the great nephew of Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Shell.

Running back Brandon Wilds -- 6-0 3/4, 218 -- had a 35-inch vertical and 9-foot-10 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.23 seconds and the three-cone in 7.03 seconds. In the positional drills, Wilds showed a lot of ability as a receiver, looking good catching the ball.

Safety Isaiah Johnson -- 5-11 3/4, 212 -- ran the 40 in 4.81 and 4.77 seconds. He had a 30 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-7 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.53 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.07 seconds. He also did 18 reps on the bench. Johnson could be a free-agent pickup for an NFL team because of his special-teams ability.
