For weeks, LSU coach Les Miles has been deferring comment on suspended running back Jeremy Hill until the legal issues facing the sophomore -- a battery charge and probation violation -- begin to resolve themselves.
That could happen Monday, according to reports.
District Judge Bonnie Jackson will review terms of Hill's probation, and will have the discretion to determine whether Hill will serve jail time for punching a man outside a bar. If Jackson makes the determination that Hill won't be sent to jail, opening the door for the troubled star to register for classes, all eyes will be on Miles.
UPDATE: Apparently, Judge Jackson spared Hill jail time. That puts the ball in Miles' court.
Miles has maintained the same stance on Hill since he was suspended in the spring, noting that Hill has not been allowed in the LSU football complex while his legal charges are being processed.
LSU begins fall practice Monday. Hill led the Tigers with 755 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns last season. The Tigers open the season against Texas Christian at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Aug. 31.
