Shilique Calhoun worked out as LB by 49ers, DL by Jets

Representatives from all 32 NFL teams -- including Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson and Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier -- were present for Michigan State's pro day on Wednesday.

A total of 19 players worked out indoors and on FieldTurf.

Defensive end Shilique Calhoun -- 6-foot-4 1/2, 250 pounds -- did the three-cone drill in 7.13 seconds and stood on the rest of his numbers from the NFL Scouting Combine. Calhoun worked out in space as a linebacker by a San Francisco 49ers assistant coach, and worked out in defensive lineman drills by a New York Jets assistant coach.

Defensive tackle Lawrence Thomas -- 6-3 5/8, 294 -- did the short shuttle in 4.45 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.55 seconds. He also performed 24 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press. The Jets' assistant coach also worked out Thomas in the positional drills.

Defensive tackle Joel Heath -- 6-4 7/8, 292 -- had a 9-foot-1 broad jump and then stood on the rest of his combine numbers. Heath also worked out as an offensive lineman.

Center Jack Allen -- 6-1 1/2, 295 -- had a 28-inch vertical jump. Jets offensive line coach Steve Marshall put Allen through his positional workout, and he looked solid throughout.

Offensive tackle Jack Conklin -- 6-5 7/8, 310 -- had a good-plus workout. He has been working out in San Diego with former Dallas Cowboys offensive line coach Hudson Houck.

Quarterback Connor Cook -- 6-3 5/8, 215 -- went through a workout that was scripted by noted quarterback coach George Whitfield. Cook has a great sense of anticipation and throws with accuracy.

Wide receiver Aaron Burbridge -- 6-0, 205 -- ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 and 4.49 seconds. He had a really good workout. He made a great catch of a Cook pass along the sidelines at the pro day. Burbridge's pro day enhanced his position in the draft.

Offensive guard Donovan Clark -- 6-3 7/8, 312 -- ran the 40 in 5.21 and 5.17 seconds. He had a 27-inch vertical and 8-foot-6 broad jump. He did the short shuttle in 4.6 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.57 seconds. He performed 26 reps on the bench press. Clark is a priority free-agent pickup possibility for a team following the draft.
