INDIANAPOLIS -- Sammy Watkins said he wanted to "run something crazy" in his 40-yard dash Sunday, and hoped to break the Chris Johnson's NFL Scouting Combine record.

Watkins was fast Sunday, but Johnson's 4.24 from 2008 still stands as the record.
The former Clemson wide receiver was clocked officially at 4.43 in the 40 Sunday.
Watkins is considered the top receiver in a draft with tremendous depth at the position. NFL Media analyst Mike Mayock gushed about Watkins on a conference call with reporters last week.
"Sammy Watkins is a special player," he said. "I usually don't get excited about drafting a wide receiver in the top 10. ... He's different."
Watkins wasn't the only draft prospect eyeing Johnson's record this weekend, though. In fact, Kent State RB Dri Archer, who is also running the 40 Sunday, was even bolder, declaring that he would indeed break Johnson's record.
He also came up short, but not by much.
Archer turned in the fastest official 40 time of the day -- he ran a 4.26.
Johnson can sleep well tonight after a nerve-racking day.
