Not many things have been able to slow down the New Orleans Saints' record-setting offense.
The Saints rarely stop once they get going, as was the case during Saturday's wild-card romp over the Detroit Lions. The Saints put up a playoff-record 626 yards of total offense, scored touchdowns on their first five possessions of the second half and scored 45 points for the third consecutive game to set the stage for next week's divisional-round game in San Francisco.
The Saints went 8-0 at the Superdome during the regular season, but they were 3-2 in games played outdoors. Two of those wins came by five or fewer points.
Still, when the topic of playing outdoors came up in the postgame locker room Saturday night, the Saints collectively scoffed at the notion that they're strictly a dome team.
"I feel like our offense and our team is built for whatever condition," Saints quarterback Drew Brees said, via CBSSports.com. "We feel like we're the type of team that should be able to go anywhere, anytime, and play our type of football."
