Royal expected to miss at least two weeks for Broncos

It looks like the Denver Broncos passing game, hampered by injuries, will not be at full strength anytime soon.

The Denver Post reported Monday that wide receiver Eddie Royal, who strained a groin against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, is expected to miss at least two weeks, and tight end Julius Thomas is also expected to be out at least two weeks with a high ankle sprain.

Brandon Lloyd, the team's top receiving threat, is day-to-day with a nagging groin injury. Lloyd's unexpected absence against the Bengals caused Denver to go into that game with only three active wide receivers, a situation that coach John Fox said on Monday would not be repeated next weekend when the Broncos visit the Tennessee Titans.

The team could promote one or more receivers from the practice squad or bring in a free agent.
