Report: NFL team ranks Aaron Donald, Zack Martin in top 10

Rising prospects Aaron Donald and Zack Martin have most frequently been projected to go in the middle of the draft's first round on May 8. But one team's logic is another's folly when it comes to draft evaluations, and both players are reportedly rated by one particular club as top-10 prospects.

With the club unidentified, and the order in which they are ranked unclear, mmqb.si.com reports the following 10 prospects are the cream of the crop for one NFL team: Donald, Martin, quarterbacks Johnny Manziel and Blake Bortles, offensive linemen Jake Matthews, Greg Robinson and Taylor Lewan, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, linebacker Khalil Mack and wide receiver Sammy Watkins.

The bad news for Donald and Martin: That team, Peter King wrote, isn't drafting in the top 10.

Still, the report sheds light on the fact that wisdom, across 32 war rooms, can come in various and often incongruous forms. Keep in mind, one general manager has already told NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah that he doesn't expect Martin to be available to the Miami Dolphins, who pick 19th and are targeting Martin, according to The Miami Herald. As for Donald, he appears unlikely to slip through a stretch of four clubs in a five-pick sequence which have a need on the defensive line: the New York Giants (No. 12), Chicago Bears (No. 14), Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 15) and Dallas Cowboys (No. 16).

But if a team drafting earlier has him rated even higher, he might not even make it that far.
