The process for Williams' potential reinstatement is underway, league sources told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora last week, but for the time being, he cannot speak to any NFL employees, a league source recently told The National Football Post.

The restrictions carry one exception, however, as Williams is permitted to speak to his son, Blake, who's currently serving as St. Louis Rams linebackers coach. The two cannot discuss football during their conversations, according to the source.

Blake Williams followed his father to the Rams this offseason when Gregg Williams was named the team's defensive coordinator under new coach Jeff Fisher.
