Report: Bucs' Talib expected to receive four-game suspension

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Aqib Talib met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell earlier this week to discuss his alleged role in an offseason shooting.

The outcome of that meeting might not be what Talib had hoped.

Three sources familiar with the situation indicated to Yahoo! Sports that Talib can expect a four-game suspension to open the season. However, multiple sources told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora that nothing has been communicated to Talib regarding a suspension.

The Bucs haven't said if they anticipate a suspension of Talib, who was suspended without pay for the 2010 regular-season opener for violating the league's personal-conduct policy.

Talib, a fourth-year pro, practiced Wednesday, one day after he met with Goodell, but he declined to discuss specifics about his trip to New York.

"I met with the commissioner, but I'm going to keep all the details between me and the commissioner if ya'll can respect that," Talib said, repeating variations of his answer to several other questions about his visit with Goodell.

Talib is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a March incident in which police in the Dallas suburb of Garland say they believe the 25-year-old player and his mother shot at a man, who wasn't injured.
