Report: Browns to visit with Tannehill despite backing McCoy

The Cleveland Browns are planning to move forward with Colt McCoy as their starting quarterback. But that might not keep them from spending an early draft pick on a signal-caller in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Brooks: The truth about Tannehill

With the NFL's QB obsession, Ryan Tannehill projects as a top-10 pick. But Bucky Brooks doesn't see a top-10 talent. **More ...**

Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill is one of the 30 players who will visit with the Browns before the draft, a league source told The Plain Dealer.

The Browns attempted to acquire the No. 2 pick from the St. Louis Rams, but the Washington Redskins eventually struck a deal for the selection. Trading back in the first round is now under consideration for the team, Browns general manager Tom Heckert said Monday.

NFL Network's Mike Mayock ranks Tannehill the No. 3 quarterback in the draft, behind presumptive top two picks Andrew Luck of Stanford and Robert Griffin III of Baylor.

Heckert said the team had identified five players it would target in the draft, including Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon and cornerback Morris Claiborne.
