Raiders add two assistants as search for new head coach continues

ALAMEDA, Calif. -- The Oakland Raiders have added two more assistants to their coaching staff.

The team on Monday named Kelly Skipper their running backs coach and added Lionel Washington to coach defensive backs.

Skipper, a former running back at Fresno State, was the Raiders' tight ends coach last season.

Washington played cornerback for nine seasons with the Raiders. He spent the last 10 years on the Green Bay Packers' staff as an assistant defensive backs coach.

Oakland owner Al Davis hasn't decided whether to retain interim head coach Tom Cable, one of at least three finalists for the top job.

The other candidates include New York Giants offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride and Green Bay assistant head coach Winston Moss.
