Quick Take: Bills (2-4) at Jets (1-6)

Last meeting
The Bills defeated the Jets 17-14 in Buffalo in Week 4. Rookie quarterback Trent Edwards, filling in for injured starter J.P. Losman, made his NFL starting debut, completing 22 of 28 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown.

Streaks
Buffalo has won four of the last five contests and leads the overall series 51-42.

Last week
The Bills hung on in the fourth quarter to beat the Ravens, 19-14. Buffalo stopped the Ravens on fourth-and-1 late in the final quarter to seal the victory. The Jets were beaten by the Bengals, 38-31. New York allowed Cincinnati to score 28 unanswered points in the second half while their own offense disappeared after halftime.

At stake
Both the Bills and the Jets are fighting for second place in the AFC East, behind league juggernaut New England. The rest of the season is big for both of these teams as they use it to determine the direction they want to go at quarterback.

Key matchup
Bills' rookies vs. Jets' veterans. Bills coach Dick Jauron announced he's sticking with Edwards in Week 8 against the Jets since it woked in Week 4. Edwards and fellow rookie Marshawn Lynch (the only rookie QB-RB tandem in the league) showed poise last week against the league's second-ranked defense, driving 71 yards in five plays for the final touchdown. Quarterback Chad Pennington and receiver Laveranues Coles, both eight-year veterans, showed signs of brilliance last week, as two of Pennington's three TD passes were long strikes to Coles.

Did you know?
Last week Bills receiver Lee Evans became the ninth player in franchise history with 3,000 receiving yards. ... Coles has six of the Jets' 10 touchdown receptions in 2007.
