Ohio gov. tells Ohioans to say no to Harbaugh's signature khakis

Ohio Gov. John Kasich took some time out of his busy schedule as a presidential candidate to issue a resolution in honor of Saturday's Ohio State-Michigan game, and he made Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh's preferred choice of pants the target of his ridicule.

The governor's annual "Scarlet Letter Saturday" has become a tradition for the OSU-Michigan game -- he once again is "urging Ohioans to avoid using" the letter "M" on the day of "The Game."

The new twist this year, thanks to Harbaugh's presence, is some good, old-fashioned roasting of khakis, which Harbaugh is never without when he's roaming the sideline. Kasich encourages Ohioans to "avoid wearing pleated khakis on this day and all days."

Kasich also takes a swipe at Harbaugh's shirtless summer escapades.

"While the dull, earthly garment may be workplace appropriate for Jake from State Farm, coaches sporting them in a 'shirts vs. skins' pickup game should stick to the 'shirts' team," the resolution states.

We all know Harbaugh is an easy target for ridicule. He's an enigma wrapped in khakis who really likes steak. But defeating Harbaugh-coached teams? That's a much more difficult proposition. His resurgent Wolverines are 9-2 heading into Saturday's battle against 10-1 Ohio State.

It's all fun and games, governor, until Harbaugh figures out a way to beat you.
