Niners DT Smith added to NFC Pro Bowl roster; Vikes' K.Williams out

San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Justin Smith was added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster Tuesday in place of injured Kevin Williams of the Minnesota Vikings.

"This is a great opportunity for me to represent my team in Miami. ... It's been a long time coming," Smith said in a statement released by the 49ers. "To be able to go there and play with four of my teammates makes it even better."

Smith is the fifth 49ers player on the Pro Bowl roster, joining running back Frank Gore, tight end Vernon Davis, linebacker Patrick Willis and punter Andy Lee. Gore also was a replacement pick.

These are the most Pro Bowl players for the 49ers since they had six in 2002.

Smith started all 16 games for the 49ers this season and ranked second on the team with six sacks.
