Michigan State's Darqueze Dennard won't play in Senior Bowl

Michigan State cornerback Darqueze Dennard has chosen not to participate in the Reese's Senior Bowl.

Dennard, widely regarded as one of the top two or three cornerbacks available in the 2014 NFL Draft, was on the game roster released Wednesday but isn't listed anymore.

Presumably he now has put all his focus on preparing for the NFL Scouting Combine on Feb. 22-25 in Indianapolis. Dennard (5-foot-11, 197 pounds) might be the most physical corner in this draft class. Some scouts question his speed, though mlive.com reported in November that Dennard was one of the three fastest players on the team, which went 12-1 and won the Rose Bowl.

Michigan State strong safety Isaiah Lewis (5-10, 208) has been added to the North roster for the game. Lewis, a three-year starter for the Spartans, is seen as a mid-round prospect.
