Miami Hurricanes walk-on Joey Grosso dies in diving accident

A walk-on linebacker who was added to Miami's roster on Tuesday died Wednesday in an accident while diving for lobsters.

Joey Grosso had played for three seasons at Penn and was set to use his final season of college eligibility at Miami, where he had enrolled in law school.

Grosso, who was from south Florida, graduated from Penn in May with a major in philosophy, politics and economics.

Grosso, 22, was a certified diver who was diving off a commercial boat. He died on the first day of Florida's two-day lobster mini-season.
