McGahee to have knee surgery, Reed's shoulder recovering

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh says he expects two of his injured stars to be fit to play when the season opens Sept. 7 against Cincinnati.

Safety Ed Reed is recovering from a shoulder injury. Although he was activated from the physically-unable-to-perform list on Saturday, he has not been involved in contact drills.

Meanwhile, Harbaugh says running back Willis McGahee is having arthroscopic surgery on his knee, but Harbaugh says the team considers it a cautionary procedure.
