Lions WR Johnson misses second practice with Achilles injury

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson missed his second consecutive practice Thursday because of an Achilles injury, according to the team's official website, leaving his status for the season finale against the Green Bay Packers in question.

With the Lions already in the playoffs, the team could opt to rest Johnson on Sunday, with a wild-card game on tap the following week. But Johnson indicated on Wednesday he hoped to play.

"I had some things bothering me at the end of the game there, so just trying to be as fresh as possible going into the game," Johnson said, according to the Detroit Free Press.

Also missing practice for Detroit were defensive tackles Corey Williams, who missed a second consecutive workout with a sore hip, and Nick Fairley, who was limited Wednesday but rested a sore foot.

Safety Louis Delmas, who's still recovering from a knee injury, didn't practice and doesn't expect to play against the Packers, according to MLive.com.

Cornerback Chris Houston (hand/knee) and defensive end Willie Young (ankle) were back on the field after being sidelined Wednesday. Houston was wearing a smaller cast than he was before.
