Lions release McDonald, sign Haye to help in Suh's absence

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions have released defensive back Brandon McDonald and signed defensive tackle Jovan Haye.

Haye was a starter two seasons ago for Tennessee and played in 14 games for the Titans last season. Coach Jim Schwartz says injuries and the suspension of Ndamukong Suh have hurt Detroit's depth on the defensive line.

McDonald appeared in 11 games this season for the Lions.
